How to send a manual transmission with Medtronic

First, find the type of monitor you have in the list below.  Then, follow the steps associated with that monitor.

MyCareLink Heart Mobile App

Manual Transmission Steps:

1. Find and open the app on your phone.

2. Click the "My Transmissions" icon.

3. Once this opens, click on "Send Transmission"

4.  You can view past transmissions on the screen.

MyCareLink Relay

Manual Transmission Steps:

1. Press and hold the button for 2 seconds. The light ring starts to spin and the progress bar will
start filling.  Note: If you press the button and the bottom of the light ring flashes 3 times with a tone playing, the communicator is busy. Wait and try again later.

2. Wait near the communicator until the progress bar fills completely.  This can take up to 6 minutes.  A tone will play when complete. 

3. When just the light ring is solid green, no further action is needed and the transmission was successful.

MyCareLink Smart™Monitor

Manual Transmission Steps:

1. Open the Application on your phone or tablet. 

2. Turn on the reader by pressing the gray button on the top of the reader.

3. Place the reader over your heart device.  While holding the reader here, it will display a green light on the top and the app will display a green progress bar indicating the reader is in the right position.  

4. When the reading is complete, the application will prompt you to put the reader down. 

5. The reader will display a green check mark with "Data Sent" once the transmission is sent successfully.

5. Click the green home icon on the bottom on the screen to return to the home screen.  The last transmission date will appear.  You can close the app on your phone or tablet.

MyCareLink™ Monitor

Manual Transmission Steps:

1. Press the round button on the front of the base unit.

2. Pick up the handheld reader from the cradel and place on your implanted heart device. 

3. A green progress bar will display on the cradle's screen.

4. When the screen indicates, remove the handheld device and place it back on the cradle. 

5. Another green status bar will show the progress as the transmission is sent to your clinic.

6.  When the manual transmission is complete, a green checkbox will appear.
